Chelsea and Westminster SCR System

Agriemach were recently asked to visit Chelsea and Westminster Hospital to establish if we could repair the faults on their Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems in use with their 1.2MW engines. After our initial site survey we were able to locate the user manual for these particular PLC units, along with the required data in order to resolve the problems they were having.

Faults had been recorded for NOx sensor failure on engine 2 which we found to be a result of overheating of the interface between the sensor and the control panel due to degraded thermal insulation. We provided NOx sensor and interface replacements which cleared the faults and enabled the system to be switched to automatic dosing once again.

Engine 1 required a new temperature sensor and transformer pack to be installed in order to clear the fault codes and get back up and running for service.

These 1.2MW engines are located in the basement of Chelsea and Westminster hospital directly next to a set of huge boilers. The SCR reactors are ceiling mounted which made for some very interesting maintenance work, however with working platforms and experienced Agriemach engineers on site, this was no problem at all.

Agriemach offer a fully comprehensive service for Selective Catalytic Reduction Systems, which include design, manufacture, installation, commissioning, project management and of course servicing of not only our own installations, but historical installations for customers requiring assistance with replacement parts and in many cases dosing system upgrades to increase the efficiency of the system, as well as catalyst replacements.

We cover applications such as CHP Cogeneration, Power Generation, Industrial and Chemical, Crop Production (large scale Greenhouse), Marine and Shipping along with offering systems for both reciprocating engines and gas turbines. We offer solutions for factory fit or retro-fit and can design systems around customers’ needs and space restrictions – there is no such thing as a standard installation.
