AMPS Power | Agriemach Make Front Cover

We are proud to report that a photo of Agriemach SCR Commissioning Engineer James Weeks was used on the front cover of AMPS Power magazine 2015 Issue 4. This particular photo was taken during the commissioning of the Selective Catalytic Reduction System installed on a Perkins 4000 series natural gas engine, inside the new Crossrail station at Canary Wharf. The engine offers a gross engine power output of 393kW and a raw NOx value of 500mg/Nm3 – Mr Weeks commissioned this particular system to bring the raw NOx value down to sub 50mg which was the requested limit for this particular site.

AMPS Power Magazine is produced by the AMPS trade association which is the voice of the UKs world leading diesel and gas engine power generating sector. With members varying in scale from FTSE 100 listed to sole trader manufacturers, what everyone has in common is a commitment to the power generation industry and an understanding that raising standards, ensuring best practise and safeguarding the future of this sector, is best realised through a professional trade body promoting a culture of co-operation and teamwork.

Power generating sets are important in the UK as the majority are used as backup and emergency standby. Although most people will rarely hear or see these generators; they provide invaluable and occasionally lifesaving electricity. Examples of these sites are Hospitals, Data Centres, Banks, Hotels and Supermarkets. Examples of needing off grid power are Oil Rigs, Construction Sites, Festivals and events.

We are more reliant than ever on stable power supplies and also very conscious of pioneering the way for clean air. Agriemach offer the exhaust emissions cleaning technology for both standby and prime power generating sets, covering the reduction of NOx (Nitrogen Oxides), CO (Carbon Monoxide), CH4 (Methane) and C3H4 (Ethane). We are working with not only lean burn and stoichiometric engines, but also Gas Turbines across the UK and Europe.
